Govee vs Philips Hue Floor Lamp: Which Smart Lamp Should You Buy?

Govee vs Philips Hue floor lamp: brightness, color, gradients, apps, hubs, remotes and price for the Govee Floor Lamp 3, Hue Play Floor Lamp and Hue Signe.

In the Govee vs Philips Hue floor lamp matchup, Govee’s Floor Lamp 3 is brighter in cool white and more saturated in color, while Philips Hue lamps win on warm white, seamless design and smart-home integration, according to FUTURESPACE COLLECTIVE, a YouTube lighting and setup reviewer, in an unsponsored test.

Price is the other big difference: Adam Talks Tech, a YouTube smart-lighting reviewer, found Hue’s Signe two to three times the price of a comparable Govee. Here is how they stack up, with Amazon prices checked October 16, 2026.

Brightness and color

FUTURESPACE COLLECTIVE standardized settings across five lamps. At 6,500K cool white, Govee’s Floor Lamp 3 was brightest with Hue close behind. At 2,700K warm white, the Hue Play Floor Lamp came out on top. Govee led green and blue and tied Hue for red. In an earlier comparison of the Hue Signe and Govee’s original Lyra floor lamp, Adam Talks Tech also found the Govee noticeably brighter, while Hue reached a cooler 7,500K white versus 6,500K. Govee now lists 1,000K to 10,000K for the Floor Lamp 3.

Gradients and diffusion

Adam Talks Tech said Hue’s gradients look smoother, with less visible banding, even though Govee lets you control more individual zones. FUTURESPACE COLLECTIVE found Govee and Hue among the most seamless at minimum brightness, with Hue using a glossier diffuser and the others matte. Govee says its Floor Lamp 3 uses 288 dense LEDs for spot-free light, and Shane Whatley said its colors stay vivid even at low brightness.

Design

Both Hue lamps ship fully assembled as one seamless piece, which FUTURESPACE COLLECTIVE and Adam Talks Tech both said adds to the premium feel. The Signe comes in black, white or oak. Govee’s Floor Lamp 3 needs a few screws to assemble, Shane Whatley said, and has an aluminum body with a dual-ring base that lights up independently.

Apps and smart-home integration

Adam Talks Tech preferred the Hue app as more streamlined and easier to use, and found Govee’s app offers far more control and effects, which can feel like a lot. FUTURESPACE COLLECTIVE said Hue integrates more seamlessly with platforms like Home Assistant, while Govee offers basic local control plus cloud features. Shane Whatley noted current Govee lamps support Matter for Apple Home and other platforms, with scenes and effects staying in the Govee app.

Hubs and remotes

Hue lamps need a Hue Bridge for automations, remote access and full features, which adds cost if you are new to Hue. Govee lamps connect over Wi-Fi with no hub, and the Floor Lamp 3 includes a remote that attaches magnetically to the arm. Adam Talks Tech said Govee’s remote controls nearly every parameter, while Hue relies on the app or separately purchased accessories.

TV sync and ecosystems

Both brands support syncing lights with your TV with extra hardware: Philips lists the Hue Bridge, HDMI Sync box or Sync TV app, and Govee offers DreamView with its own sync products. FUTURESPACE COLLECTIVE said Govee, Hue and Nanoleaf are the brands with mature ecosystems for this. Adam Talks Tech said if you already use Hue entertainment zones, stick with Hue.

Which should you buy?

  • Choose Govee for the most brightness and color for the money, no hub and a full-featured remote; FUTURESPACE COLLECTIVE’s top pick was the Govee Floor Lamp 3.
  • Choose the Hue Play Floor Lamp if you already own Hue; he called the Philips Hue Play Floor Lamp (53-inch) an easy recommendation at a price in line with competitors.
  • Choose the Hue Signe for the sleekest design and smoothest gradients, as Adam Talks Tech found with the Philips Hue Signe Gradient Floor Lamp.
