Large Room Humidifier for Living Room with Warm & Cool Mist: AreShark 16L

The AreShark 16L large room humidifier is a tall warm-and-cool mist tower with a 4.2-gallon (16-liter) tank, three mist levels, a humidity target from 40% to 90%, a wireless remote, sleep mode rated near 30 dB, and an adjustable RGB night light. In my YouTube video, I set the unit up in our living room, top-fill the tank, run the mist with the branched extension tube, and walk through the front panel controls Amazon lists for this model.

In this large room humidifier review, I stick to what that walkthrough covers: tank size and claimed runtime, warm versus cool mist, the living-room mist demo, sleep mode and RGB light, plus the listing specs shoppers compare before buying a whole-house style ultrasonic for open living spaces.

What is the AreShark 16L large room humidifier?

AreShark lists this as a floor-standing ultrasonic humidifier aimed at living rooms, bedrooms and other open indoor areas. The headline capacity is 4.2 gallons / 16 liters in one tank, with manufacturer claims of up to about 75 hours of runtime per fill, coverage up to about 2,000 square feet, and maximum mist output around 850 mL per hour. My video description also calls out 2.4 MHz atomization, warm mist up to about 113°F, three mist levels, a humidity sensor with a 40%–90% target range, a wireless remote, quiet sleep mode, and an adjustable RGB night light.

On camera I keep the unit in the living room so you can see the tall white tower, the front water-level window, the blue LED control panel, and the optional branched extension tube that lifts mist higher into the room. That living-room placement is the whole point of the video title: a large room humidifier demo, not a lab moisture map of every bedroom.

Sources for the table: the Amazon listing for the AreShark 4.2 Gal/16L humidifier and the feature list in my video description. Coverage, runtime and warm-mist temperature are manufacturer claims. Actual hours between refills will change with mist level, warm mist, and how dry the room starts. Always confirm the live price and what’s in the box before you buy.

Living room setup and the tall tank

I placed the AreShark in our living room specifically to show how a tall large-capacity humidifier looks in an open space. The unit sits on small caster wheels, so sliding it a few feet is easier than lifting a full 16-liter tank. On camera the vertical water window makes it obvious when you still have a deep reserve left — that large tank is the main reason people shop this class instead of a 1-gallon bedside unit.

According to AreShark and the Amazon bullets, one fill can last up to about 75 hours under lighter settings. I treat that as a best-case listing claim. In the video I focus on the practical part: you are not refilling every few hours the way you would with a small cool-mist cube, which matters when the humidifier sits across a living room instead of on a nightstand.

Top-fill water tank

The listing calls out an easy top-fill design. In the walkthrough I open the top and pour from a clear jug straight into the reservoir, no need to haul the whole body to a sink for a basic refill. That matches how most modern tower humidifiers are marketed: keep the base planted, lift the lid, and add water.

A 16-liter tank is still heavy when full, so the top-fill path is the feature you feel day to day. Cleaning access and mineral buildup are the usual ultrasonic caveats on any brand; my short video is a feature demo, not a multi-week mineral scrape diary.

Warm mist, cool mist and three mist levels

AreShark advertises both warm and cool mist on the same unit. The video description cites warm mist up to about 113°F, positioned as a seasonal alternative to straight cool mist. On the front panel, warm mist is a dedicated control with a “hot” indicator when it is active — I show that panel close-up so you can see humidity percent, mist level and the warm-mist icon together.

Three mist levels let you dial output without jumping straight to the maximum 850 mL/h claim. For everyday home use, many comfort guides still point people toward roughly 30%–50% indoor relative humidity so rooms do not go damp; AreShark’s selectable band runs from 40% to 90%, so you still choose a sensible target rather than leaving mist on full blast all day. The built-in sensor is meant to hold that target automatically, with ±5% accuracy claimed on the listing.

Extension tube and living-room mist output

The accessory that stands out on camera is the branched extension tube. I install it on top of the tower so mist exits higher and in a few directions instead of hugging the floor. AreShark markets up to about a 6-foot mist height with that tube, which is why the living-room shots show a taller white “tree” of nozzles above the black lid.

Mist leaving the branched extension tube in the living room.

In the demo you can see thick plumes leaving the side nozzles. That is a visual check of output and direction, not a calibrated CFM or grain-per-pound moisture test. If you are comparing large room humidifiers, this is the moment in my video that shows how the AreShark tries to push moisture into an open floor plan instead of fogging only the air right above the tank.

Remote, sleep mode and RGB night light

Because the humidifier may sit across a living room, the wireless remote matters. In the video I show adjusting functions from a short distance so you are not walking over to the tower for every mist or humidity change. Sleep mode is listed around 30 dB, with the display lights shutting off so the blue LEDs are not glowing all night. The adjustable RGB night light is optional decorative lighting if you want a soft glow instead of a dark tower in the corner.

Those three features — remote, sleep/display shutoff, and RGB — are the lifestyle half of the listing. The capacity and mist tube are the performance half. My walkthrough spends time on both because shoppers searching “large room humidifier for living room” usually want fewer refills and quieter overnight use in the same product.

Who should buy the AreShark 16L?

Based on the listing and what I show on camera, this AreShark fits people who want a large-capacity ultrasonic for a living room or open area, who like warm and cool mist in one tower, and who want a humidity target, remote and sleep mode without jumping to a much more expensive whole-house HVAC humidifier. It is not a tiny travel humidifier, and the 2,000 sq ft coverage figure is a manufacturer claim you should read as “large open areas,” not a guarantee for every floor plan with closed doors.

If you are still deciding between evaporative wick units and ultrasonic towers, my separate guide on evaporative vs ultrasonic humidifiers covers the tradeoffs. For a wider shortlist of big-room options, see best humidifier for a large room.

AreShark 16L humidifier FAQ

How big is the water tank?

About 4.2 gallons / 16 liters, with top-fill access shown in my video.

Does it do warm mist and cool mist?

Yes. AreShark lists both, with warm mist around 113°F on the product copy. The front panel has a dedicated warm-mist control.

What is the extension tube for?

It raises and spreads the mist. I run it in the living-room shots so the nozzles sit higher than the tank lid.

Is sleep mode quiet?

AreShark rates sleep mode near 30 dB and says the display lights turn off. I cite that as a manufacturer noise claim from the listing and video description.

Was this unit sent for free?

My video description does not say AreShark sent a free review unit. Affiliate links may earn a commission if you buy through them.
