My LEVEL8 Grace carry-on luggage review: a 20″ expandable hard-shell suitcase with a 15.6″ front laptop pocket, 36L–42L capacity and 8 spinner wheels.

The LEVEL8 Grace 20″ carry-on luggage is an expandable hard-shell suitcase with a front laptop compartment, and in my own video review it held my MacBook, iPad, passport, clothes, a toiletry bag and even my Starlink Mini in one carry-on. LEVEL8 sent me the suitcase to review. It sold for $139.99 on Amazon when I checked on October 21, 2026.

In this LEVEL8 Grace carry-on luggage review, I cover the specs, how I packed it, how it compares with other carry-ons, and common questions.

How I Packed the LEVEL8 Grace Carry-On

I travel with a lot of tech along with my clothes, so I packed the suitcase with what I actually take on trips.

Front laptop compartment

The front compartment is probably my favorite feature. I fit both my MacBook and my iPad there, which keeps my electronics separate from my clothing and easy to reach. There was more room too: I added deodorant and medicine in a cushioned pouch, and my external hard drive in its own pouch. A secure section holds my passport, and a separate spot holds my travel battery pack, so the things I don’t want to misplace each have a dedicated place. When it’s packed, I use the included combination lock.

Main compartment

The main section is where most of my clothing went. LEVEL8 also sent me its small travel toiletry bag, and I packed that alongside my clothes to keep smaller items organized. I also fit my Starlink Mini inside, which matters to me because I usually travel with a lot of tech gear.

The opposite side is a separate section where I packed even more clothing. I like having two divided sides because it’s easier to organize than one big open compartment.

Expansion, wheels and handle

If you need more room, you unzip the expansion section to add about 1.57 inches of depth, taking capacity from about 36L to 42L. For the airport, the eight 360° spinner wheels and adjustable aluminum handle let me roll it in any direction instead of tilting and dragging it behind me.

The LEVEL8 Travel Toiletry Bag

According to LEVEL8, the toiletry bag measures about 8.7″ x 3.15″ x 5.9″, with two main compartments and a front zippered pocket. It uses water-repellent Dermizax fabric and a leak-resistant exterior zipper, which helps when liquids sit next to your clothes. It’s compact enough to fit in the carry-on without taking much space.

Specs for each suitcase are from its Amazon listing. TRAVELARIM adds a USB port and a removable cosmetic case. Travelpro uses soft nylon instead of a hard shell and adds USB ports and a limited lifetime warranty. Samsonite’s Freeform is a hard-shell spinner with an interior divider, straps and pouch. The LEVEL8 is the one I’ve used myself, and its front laptop compartment is what sets it apart for me.

What Amazon Buyers Say
