COWSAR Frozen Drink Machine Review: Pineapple Slushie With No Ice

My COWSAR frozen drink machine review: a 68 oz slushie maker with a built-in compressor, 6 modes, and 7 texture levels. I tested it with pineapple juice.

Most homemade slushies start with a blender full of ice, and by the time you’re done, the drink tastes watered down. I wanted to see if there was a better way.

COWSAR sent me its COWSAR Frozen Drink and Slushie Machine, and I tested it by turning plain pineapple juice into a frozen drink, with no ice at all. The built-in compressor freezes the drink right inside the machine.

In this COWSAR frozen drink machine review, I’ll cover what it is, the specs, the key features, how I used it, the pros and cons, who it’s for, and some common questions.

What Is the COWSAR Frozen Drink Machine?

The COWSAR Frozen Drink and Slushie Machine is a countertop slushie maker with a built-in compressor and what COWSAR calls 360° QuickChill technology. You pour in juice, soda, coffee drinks, or compatible cocktails, pick a mode, and the machine chills and freezes the drink in its pitcher. When it’s ready, you pull the handle and serve it straight into a cup.

Because it freezes the drink itself, you don’t need to add ice, so the flavor doesn’t get diluted.

How I Used It

For my test, I kept it simple: pineapple juice. I poured the juice directly into the machine, selected the Frozen Drink mode, and let the machine do the rest.

As it ran, I could see the pineapple juice gradually getting thicker until it turned into that frozen, slushy consistency. You can also pick from seven texture levels depending on how thick you want your drink.

Once it was ready, I placed my cup underneath, pulled the handle, and served it straight from the machine. The pineapple frozen drink came out delicious. It had the cold, smooth, frozen texture I was looking for, and it kept all the pineapple flavor because I never added any ice.

The pitcher holds up to 68 ounces, so I can make a much bigger batch when I’m making drinks for more than just myself.

When I’m finished, there’s a self-cleaning mode. I add water and run the cleaning cycle, and the pitcher and lid come off for a deeper clean.

There are a couple of rules to keep in mind. COWSAR says drinks need at least 5% sugar, so sugar-free drinks won’t work for slushies. And if you’re making a frozen alcoholic drink, the alcohol content needs to stay below 16%. Prep time also depends on your ingredients and how cold they are when you start.

Pros and Cons

  • Self-cleaning mode and a dishwasher-safe pitcher and lid

Cons

  • Drinks need at least 5% sugar, so sugar-free drinks are out
