What Is the hOmeLabs Countertop Ice Maker?

The hOmeLabs Countertop Bullet Ice Maker is a compact, portable ice machine that sits on your counter. You fill the reservoir with water, turn it on, and it starts producing bullet-shaped ice cubes in minutes. You don’t need a water line, just an outlet.

How I Used It

Using it is really simple. I added water to the reservoir, turned the machine on, and picked between small or large bullet ice. I actually made both sizes so you can see the difference in my video. The small ones are nice when you want to chill a drink quickly, and the large ones give you a little more size.

It doesn’t take long to start producing ice. hOmeLabs says it makes nine bullet-shaped pieces in as little as 6 minutes. As each batch finishes, the ice drops into the basket and the machine keeps making more, up to 26 pounds over a full day.

The controls take the guesswork out. There’s an indicator that tells you when to add water and another when the ice basket is full. And there’s an automatic self-cleaning mode for keeping it maintained between uses.

The compact size is a big advantage. At about 11.5 inches deep, 9 inches wide, and 11 inches tall, it fits right on a kitchen counter. You could also use it at a home bar, in an RV, or anywhere a portable source of ice would be handy.

It even comes with an ice scoop and five reusable ice bags, so you can scoop ice straight into your drink or bag extra batches and store them in the freezer.

Pros and Cons

Cons

  • It makes bullet ice, not clear cube ice
