Dark corners of the yard, fence lines, and steps are where you want light at night, and they’re usually the hardest places to run wiring. Solar fence lights solve that: mount them, let the sun charge them, and they light the area on their own.
I tried the Yivsen Solar Fence Lights, and in my video you can see my dog standing in the dark until the light comes on and perfectly illuminates him. This video was originally posted on my Ryzzun YouTube channel.
In this Yivsen solar fence lights review, I’ll cover what they are, the specs, the key features, how I installed and used them, the pros and cons, who they’re for, and some common questions.

What Are the Yivsen Solar Fence Lights?
The Yivsen Solar Fence Lights are small solar-powered wall lights sold in a 12-pack. Each one has a solar panel on top that charges a built-in battery during the day, and a dusk-to-dawn sensor that turns it on at night.
They mount to fences, walls, decks, and steps with a clip-on bracket, and each light lets you choose between three color temperatures, so you can go warm and cozy or bright and crisp.

How I Used Them
Brightness and Color Modes
In my video, my dog is sitting in the dark, and boom, the light perfectly illuminates him. You press the button on the light to turn it on or off and to change the setting. There’s a warmer light, a cooler light, and a neutral light to choose from.
Solar Charging and Runtime
During the day, the battery recharges from the solar panel, so all it has to do is stay out in the sun. On a regular summer day, that charge gives you over 30 hours of light. In winter, I get about 8 hours of battery life. Yivsen’s listing says 5 to 8 hours in winter.
Installation
It’s super easy to install. It comes with screws, anchors, and a clip. You put the clip up on the wall first, wherever you want to position it, whether it’s a fence or a wall, and then clip the solar light onto it.
Where I’d Use Them
These are perfect for a wall somewhere that’s very dim or dark at night that you want to light up. You can put them on a fence, a wall, or a brick wall. It doesn’t matter.
Things to Consider Before Buying
- Winter runtime is shorter: Yivsen says 5 to 8 hours in winter compared to 30+ hours in summer.
- Sun exposure matters: shaded spots will charge less.
- Accent and area light: 50 lumens lights a fence line or steps, not an entire yard.
