Best Robot Vacuum for Carpet (2026): Deep-Clean Picks Compared

A $279.98 robot tied the best carpet score Vacuum Wars has recorded. The Roborock Q10 S5+ pulled 96% of the sand the channel ground into medium-pile carpet, a test Vacuum Wars uses to measure how well a robot deep-cleans rugs. Vacuum Wars buys the robots it tests and doesn’t accept sponsorships.

Deep carpet cleaning depends less on a robot’s price than on suction, airflow and brush contact. Vacuum Wars measured the Q10 S5+’s suction as the fourth-highest of more than 150 robots tested that way. Smart Cleaning Lab reported that iRobot’s $279 Roomba 105 Vac picked up 82% of embedded sand, against a 75% average (Smart Cleaning Lab).

This guide ranks four robots by carpet deep-clean results and carpet features: mop lifting, carpet detection and suction boost. Prices were checked on Amazon on Oct 17, 2026.

What Makes a Robot Good on Carpet

  • Measured suction and airflow. Vacuum Wars found the Q10 S5+’s high suction “made a meaningful impact” on carpet, which it said is not always the case (Vacuum Wars, Roborock Q10 S5+ review).
  • Brush contact. Vacuum Wars says a rubber-only brush agitates carpet less than one with bristles, and you need good surface contact for embedded hair and debris.
  • Mop lifting or carpet avoidance. On a vacuum-mop combo, the pad must lift or the robot must skip rugs so carpets don’t get wet. Lifts on these picks range from 8 mm to about 10.8 mm.
  • Carpet detection with suction boost. Roborock, Dreame and eufy all list automatic suction boosts on carpet.

The Picks

Roborock Q10 S5+: Best carpet deep clean for the money

Besides the 96% sand score, the Q10 S5+ picked up 96% of flattened 2.5-inch pet hair from carpet, against an 81% average, and Vacuum Wars said that if carpet performance matters, it is “one of the best robot vacuums we’ve seen.” Its estimated 1,243 sq ft per charge beat the 1,051 average (Vacuum Wars, Roborock Q10 S5+ review). The vibrating mop lifts 8 mm when the robot senses carpet. Clear small objects before a run, since its obstacle avoidance scored low in Vacuum Wars’ tests. $279.98. See the Roborock Q10 S5+ on Amazon.

  • Auto-empty base with a 2.7 L bag
  • Top-mounted LiDAR and multifloor maps
  • Base does not wash mop pads or refill water

eufy E25: Best carpet cleaner with a full-service dock

In Vacuum Wars’ carpet deep-clean test, the E25 beat the average robot “by a wide margin,” and it picked up 93% of pet hair from carpet. Its roller mop lifts above carpet, so mixed floors can be cleaned in one run (Vacuum Wars, “Eufy E25 Omni Review: Our Full Test Results and Final Verdict”). The dock empties dust, washes and dries the mop, and refills water. Vacuum Wars measured below-average bench suction, but that didn’t show up in its carpet results. $599.99. See the eufy E25 on Amazon.

  • Covered floor about 28% faster than Vacuum Wars’ testing average
  • Remembers up to 5 floor plans (listing)
  • 21 mm threshold climbing (listing)

Dreame D30 Ultra CE: Best for carpet-heavy homes

Smart Cleaning Lab ranked the D30 Ultra CE second in its 2026 small-apartment roundup and said it suits homes with “a lot of carpet” where vacuuming matters more than mopping. It reported that in three months of daily use, the robot handled pets, children’s toys and floor transitions without getting stuck or losing its map (Smart Cleaning Lab, “7 Best Robot Vacuums for Small Apartments (2026)”). Dreame lists 25,000 Pa suction, carpet detection that lifts the mops up to 0.41 in, and an intensive carpet mode for deeply embedded dust. $399.97. See the Dreame D30 Ultra CE on Amazon.

  • Dock washes mop pads and empties into a 3.2 L bag (up to 100 days, per Dreame)
  • Five suction levels; crosses 0.79 in thresholds (listing)
  • No onboard water pump; mops don’t extend to edges (Smart Cleaning Lab)

iRobot Roomba 105 Vac: Best vacuum-only pick for carpet

Smart Cleaning Lab said the Roomba 105 Vac “performs well on carpets” and cited 82% embedded-sand pickup. Its auto-empty dock holds up to 75 days of debris, per iRobot (Smart Cleaning Lab, “7 Best Robot Vacuums for Small Apartments (2026)”). It has no mop, so there are no wet pads to keep off rugs. Smart Cleaning Lab recommends it for homes without heavy pet hair. $279.00. See the iRobot Roomba 105 Vac on Amazon.

  • ClearView LiDAR mapping; cleans in neat rows (listing)
  • Adjustable number of passes and suction levels (listing)
  • Bag traps 99% of allergens as small as 0.7 microns (listing)

Carpet Tips

  • Use carpet boost or intensive carpet modes on rugs and keep a quieter setting for hard floors.
  • Mark delicate or high-pile rugs as skip zones in the app if your robot mops.
  • For mostly hard floors, a mop-first robot may suit you better. Vacuum Wars says the Roborock Qrevo S Pro should do better on hard floors than on carpet (Vacuum Wars, “Roborock Qrevo S Pro: It Sells Like a Winner. Does It Clean Like One?”).
  • Empty or replace the dock bag on schedule, since carpet runs fill bins faster.

How These Picks Were Chosen

Frequently Asked Questions

Which robot vacuum is best for thick carpet?

Of the robots here, the Roborock Q10 S5+ tied Vacuum Wars’ highest embedded-sand score, at 96%.

Does higher Pa suction mean better carpet cleaning?

Not always. Vacuum Wars measures suction itself, and says high suction translated into carpet results on the Q10 S5+, but it notes that is not always the case.

Will a robot mop wet my carpet?

All three vacuum-mop combos here lift their mops on carpet: 8 mm on the Q10 S5+, 0.41 in on the D30 Ultra CE and 10.8 mm on the E25, per their listings.
