The Ninja Artisan vs Gozney Arc choice comes down to plug versus propane: the Gozney Arc baked a Neapolitan pizza in about 75 seconds at an 864°F stone, according to Pala Pizza, while the electric Ninja tops out at a listed 700°F and also bakes, broils and warms.
Both are outdoor ovens. Tom Voyage, a UK outdoor-cooking YouTuber, found the Ninja makes good Neapolitan-style pizza, though not as hot as fuel-fired ovens. Tom Voyage was gifted both ovens in his video, though he says neither company paid for the review. Amazon prices were from Amazon at time of writing.

Gozney Arc: speed and a 14-inch stone
Pala Pizza praised the Arc’s side burner, which curves across the ceiling, and found the far side about 60°F hotter than the center. It said you’d have to go out of your way to burn a pizza and called it one of the most beginner-friendly ovens. Its tip: built-in gauges read low during preheat, so use an infrared thermometer on the stone.
Ninja Artisan: plug in and do more
Tom Voyage gave the Ninja’s specs as 590 mm deep and 11.9 kg. It has a front window and an interior light. Its presets set a temperature and time, it includes a dough-proofing mode, and his New York pie baked in 8 minutes after a roughly 15-minute preheat. Ninja lists five pizza settings and temperatures from 90 to 700°F.
Who should buy which
- Ninja Artisan Pizza Oven (MO201): no gas tank, more functions, and about $500 less.
- Gozney Arc (propane): 950°F listed heat, 14-inch pies and fast Neapolitan bakes.
- Also consider: the Ninja Woodfire Oven (OO101) ($287.99) adds smoking with wood pellets.

Ninja Artisan vs Gozney Arc: How the Bakes Compared
The two reviewers tested different styles, so their results aren’t a head-to-head bake-off. Pala Pizza bought the Arc and its stand and focused on Neapolitan pies. Tom Voyage baked a New York-style pizza on the Ninja’s preset and left it alone for the whole cook.
Gozney Arc results
- First pie: baked for 76 seconds on high flame. Pala Pizza liked the leopard spotting on the crust and said the cheese wasn’t overcooked, but the bottom was very light.
- Second pie: with the stone at 864°F, a 75-second bake produced what the reviewer called an excellent bottom.
- New York style: Pala Pizza called its New York pies incredible, because the burner keeps direct flame away from the crust during the slower bake.
- Wind: the burner went out twice while making three pizzas on a windy day. The reviewer said the large mouth could be a drawback in some weather.
Ninja Artisan results
- New York preset: an 8-minute bake gave a well-done rim and nicely melted, bubbling cheese.
- Base: Tom Voyage thought the underside was a little underdone and suggested a hotter setting or a longer bake. He noted the oven’s adjustable settings can help with that.
- Light: the interior light made it easier to check the pizza in bright sunshine.
Features Beyond Pizza
The Ninja is the more versatile of the two. Tom Voyage listed its modes: Artisan (Neapolitan-style, up to 370°C), thin, New York, pan and custom pizza settings, plus bake, proof and air fry. It also includes an air fryer basket and a roasting tray. The Arc is a dedicated gas pizza oven, though Pala Pizza noted its deep interior has no burner at the back, which makes turning and moving pizzas easy.
Setup, Size and Fuel
- Gozney Arc: Pala Pizza said setup is mostly removing packaging, the stone clips, sliding in the flame diverter shield and inserting the top vent. The optional Arc stand cost $99 in the video and was built very solidly. The standard Arc ships by FedEx; the XL ships by freight.
- Preheat reading: on the Arc, the gauge read closer to the true stone temperature after about 40 minutes of running.
- Ninja Artisan: it plugs into an outlet, so there’s no tank to refill. Tom Voyage’s unit heated up in about 15 minutes.
- Weight: Tom Voyage gave the Ninja’s weight as 11.9 kg, about 26 pounds.
Ninja Artisan vs Gozney Arc: Which Should You Buy?
Pick the Arc if you want fast, high-heat Neapolitan pies and 14-inch pizzas, and you’re fine running propane. Pala Pizza called it one of the most beginner-friendly ovens it has used. Pick the Ninja if you want to plug in, spend less and use the same box to air fry, bake or proof dough, and you’re happy with 12-inch pies and lower heat.
Want an electric oven that runs hotter? Tom Voyage found the indoor-only Ooni Volt 2 reached 450°C and gave a better-cooked base than the Ninja in his test, but it costs more.
