Roborock Qrevo S Pro vs Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2: Which to Buy? (2026)

The Roborock Qrevo S Pro is now $100 cheaper than the Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2, at $399.99 versus $499.98 on Amazon on Oct 17, 2026. That shifts a matchup between two mid-range docks that both vacuum, mop and wash their own pads.

The Dreame lists more suction, 25,000 Pa to the Roborock’s 18,500 Pa, and has an arm that extends its brush and mop into corners. The Roborock has independent test data behind its mop: it beat the average by 40 points in a stain test from Vacuum Wars. YouTube reviewer Jamie Andrews covered the L40 Gen 2’s changes from the original model and said he would share full cleaning results in a later review.

Round 1: Mopping

The Qrevo S Pro has the tested edge. Vacuum Wars measured a combined mopping score “much higher than average,” with only slightly more water left behind than average, and its app can mop along the floorboards to reduce streaks (Vacuum Wars, “Roborock Qrevo S Pro: It Sells Like a Winner. Does It Clean Like One?”). The L40 Gen 2’s main mopping feature is reach: Dreame says it extends both brush and mop into corners and under furniture. Jamie Andrews said he would test its mop cleaning in a full review (Jamie Andrews, “The New Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 is NOT What I Expected.”).

Edge: Roborock, on available test data.

Round 2: Mop Washing

The Roborock washes pads with 167°F water and dries them with 113°F air. Vacuum Wars said the heat helps sanitize pads and prevent odors (Vacuum Wars, “Roborock Qrevo S Pro: It Sells Like a Winner. Does It Clean Like One?”). Dreame’s Gen 2 uses its Ace Clean system, a series of high-pressure nozzles that spray the pads “kind of like a pressure washer,” first seen on Dreame’s X50, according to Andrews. He noted the Gen 1’s hot-water washing was removed. In his view, hot water mainly helps with grease (Jamie Andrews, “The New Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 is NOT What I Expected.”).

Edge: Roborock for heated washing; Dreame for its newer spray system.

Round 3: Vacuuming and Hair

Dreame lists 25,000 Pa. Andrews said the roller has grooves with a blade that cuts hair as it wraps, and that hair caught on one axle slides off easily, and Dreame sells a TriCut brush for about $50 (Jamie Andrews, “The New Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 is NOT What I Expected.”). Vacuum Wars said the Qrevo’s single rubber brush swept surfaces with almost no scattering. It recommends the Qrevo for mostly hard-floor homes rather than heavy pet hair, after measuring 43% pickup of flattened hair (Vacuum Wars, “Roborock Qrevo S Pro: It Sells Like a Winner. Does It Clean Like One?”).

Edge: Dreame on paper for carpet and hair.

Round 4: Price and Value

At Oct 17 prices, the Qrevo S Pro costs $100 less. Andrews said the L40 Gen 2 launched at $649.99, less than half the original L40 Ultra’s launch price. Both prices change often, so check before you buy.

Edge: Roborock, at today’s prices.

Which Should You Buy?

  • Buy the Roborock Qrevo S Pro for mostly hard floors, tested mopping, heated pad washing and Matter support, for less money.
  • Buy the Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 for more listed suction, extending corner reach, a hair-cutting roller and more carpet modes, especially with rugs or pets.

How This Comparison Was Researched

I have not tested either robot. Qrevo S Pro test results come from Vacuum Wars. L40 Ultra Gen 2 details come from Jamie Andrews’ hands-on first look and Dreame’s Amazon listing. Prices were checked on Amazon on Oct 17, 2026.
