The best 3D printed Halloween decorations are skulls and bone pieces in bone-white filament, glow-in-the-dark ghosts, spiderweb coasters and pumpkin decor, according to two creators who printed their top picks for 2025. Jet L, a YouTube channel that covers practical printing projects, called a skeleton-hand bookend his favorite print “of the entire month” (Jet L, “The 10 MOST TERRIFYING 3D Prints That Will Make Your Halloween Epic”).
Lukas Engstrom, a YouTuber who makes 3D printing videos, said the one thing to take from his Halloween video is to get some glow-in-the-dark filament, and that “99% of the time” it doesn’t matter which black PLA you buy, because they look identical (Lukas Engstrom, “Top 3D Prints for Halloween 2025”). Below are the prints both creators made, print times, color choices and outdoor tips.

Jet L’s Top Halloween Prints
Jet L mixed decorations with practical prints and pulled models from Printables and MakerWorld (Jet L, “The 10 MOST TERRIFYING 3D Prints That Will Make Your Halloween Epic”):
- Skeleton hand bookend. It looks odd straight off the printer with supports on, but makes sense once books are stacked behind it. He liked that it’s a decoration you only notice if you look closely.
- Bloody drip. A shelf or cabinet topper he suggested scaling to fit, or printing two or three to line a whole shelf.
- Shadow pumpkin. He printed the body in carbon fiber PLA for a rough, non-shiny look and used standard orange PLA for the eyes.
- Spiderweb coasters. A quick print of about 3 hours that comes with a stand for all six. He suggested mixing black, purple and orange webs.
- Pumpkin teeth. Human, shark or vampire teeth with pick-like ends that push into a carved pumpkin. They import large, so scale them down.
- Mini pumpkins. Each takes about 28 minutes, so you can print a jar full in a couple of hours. A standard 0.4 mm nozzle gave enough detail, he said.
- Spiderweb twist fidget. Swappable spider, ghost, bat and pumpkin pins. He suggested a white top and black bottom for more contrast.
Lukas Engstrom’s Color and Filament Tests
Engstrom focused on color choices as much as models (Lukas Engstrom, “Top 3D Prints for Halloween 2025”):
- Bone white for bones. On an Aztec death whistle, he compared bone white, matte white and desert tan, and found bone white the most suitable.
- Matte tan for skin and fruit. He printed a detailed skull and a “forbidden fruit” apple in Bambu Lab’s matte tan.
- Glow-in-the-dark. He was impressed by Sunlu’s glow-in-the-dark filament, which he said was not sponsored, and used it on a Grim Reaper.
- Keep the designer’s supports. He printed the apple with a critical-supports-only profile and said several spots needed the support the designer intended.
- TPU coasters. He printed spiderweb coasters in TPU for AMS, and noted the designer suggested pure TPU.
His advice for finding more: search MakerWorld, Printables, Thingiverse and Cults3D for “Halloween” plus a hobby or interest of the person you’re printing for. He printed yoga-pose skeletons for his wife, a yoga instructor.
Filament Tips for Halloween Prints
| Look | Filament | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Glowing | Glow-in-the-dark PLA | Abrasive; a hardened nozzle helps |
| Bones and skulls | Bone-white or matte tan PLA | Keep the designer’s supports |
| Rough pumpkin skin | Carbon fiber PLA | Matte, non-shiny finish |
| Pumpkin orange | Orange PLA | Compare shades before a big print |
| Coasters | TPU | Print slowly |
| Yard decor | PETG or ASA | Handles heat and weather better than PLA |
Bambu Lab lists glow filament as not recommended for the AMS lite, and warns that abrasive materials like carbon fiber or glow filaments can wear down the AMS’s internal feed tubes over time (Bambu Lab Wiki filament guide). Jet L said he’d switch his outdoor pumpkin to PETG because Arizona was still near 100°F, warm enough to soften PLA.
Halloween Prints Outdoors and With Lights
- Use PETG or ASA for anything that sits in the sun.
- Use LED tealights, not real candles, in printed luminaries. Jet L’s modern pumpkin is designed for a tealight.
- Scale large pieces to your bed or split them into parts.
- Start large or detailed prints a few weeks early. Engstrom said his detailed skull was heavy, used a lot of filament and took a long time, which is why he posted in September.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best Halloween 3D prints?
Skulls and bone pieces, glow-in-the-dark ghosts, spiderweb coasters, pumpkin decor and death whistles were top picks from Jet L and Lukas Engstrom.
What color filament looks most like bone?
Bone white, in Engstrom’s side-by-side test against matte white and desert tan.
Is glow-in-the-dark filament hard to print?
It’s abrasive and can wear brass nozzles and AMS feed tubes. A hardened steel nozzle is a good idea.
How fast can I print Halloween decorations?
Mini pumpkins take about 28 minutes each and a set of six spiderweb coasters about 3 hours, according to Jet L.
Can I put a real candle in a printed holder?
No. Plastic can melt or burn. Use LED candles.
Can I print Halloween decorations for outside?
Yes, in PETG or ASA, which handle heat and weather better than PLA.
