3D printed drawer handles let you match any style and any existing screw spacing, and a printed drill jig makes installation easy. 3D Printing Nerd, a YouTube channel about printing projects, designed pulls in Fusion 360 with slots for embedded nuts, test-printed them in PLA, then printed the final set in carbon-fiber nylon.
Send to Print, a YouTube channel about printable home designs, compared five different handle designs.
Here is how to design, print and install handles that hold up.

- Match the hole spacing of your old pulls (common: 76 mm / 3 in, 96 mm, 128 mm)
- Add hex pockets for nuts or use heat-set inserts. Don’t thread screws straight into plastic.
- Make the grip at least 20 mm deep for fingers
- Print so the pull force runs along the layers, not across them
Print a Drill Jig Too
A printed jig that hooks over the drawer edge drills every handle hole square and level. Search “drawer pull jig”. It is also covered in my 3D printed woodworking jigs guide.

These are findings from popular YouTube videos, paraphrased from their transcripts and credited. They are the creators’ experiences and claims, not my test results.
- 3D Printing Nerd (3D Printing Nerd: “DIY Custom Drawer Pulls / Drawer Handles & Jig”) designed pulls in Fusion 360 with slots for embedded nuts, test-printed in PLA, then printed final versions in MatterHackers NylonX. One nut spun inside the carbon-fiber nylon, which he didn’t worry about because the pulls would stay installed. He also made a jig for placing the holes.
